Is Groupz a reservation system?

No. Your PMS/CRS remains the basis for rooms and rates. Groupz handles the group process between demand and arrival. Exactly the piece where you are now losing time.

Does Groupz work with reservation systems (MEWS/Opera/RoomRaccoon/etc.)?

We work PMS-independently. Whether you work with Opera, Mews, Protel, RoomRaccoon, Siteminder, Bookingmonster, LeisureKing, Hotelizer, Thynk or Lodgiq: you continue to use your own PMS. Groupz automates the group process around it. Many hoteliers immediately ask for a link to their PMS, but the question is: why really?

For individual reservations, a PMS link is crucial to show availability and pricing in real time. For group reservations, it works differently. No one wants a group booker in Groupz to be able to book rooms or see availability themselves. In fact, that would add risk and complexity.

The only real advantages of a PMS link for groups are the automatic processing of the list of names and the processing of cancellations. But both hardly save any time, while the investment and technical complexity for hotels and for us are enormous.
